productThis week I have been helping a client/friend understand what a true non-entry rescue system looks like and how it functions. Back in July 2011, I wrote an article titled “CS Rescue… Tripods and Winches and a false sense of security” to help facilities understand the vast limitations of the traditional tripod and winch setup. Namely, that setup works ONLY when you have a single entrant entering a vertical space!
I am NOT endorsing any specific product with this post, but simply pointing out the type of non-entry rescue systems needed for multiple-entrant type entries, whether the entry is vertical or horizontal. These devices are around $1500 and less and are fairly easy to use, although they do require additional training for attendants!
