I found this NFA pre-course reading material from way back when I started my business and had a contract with a national organization for HAZMAT Specialist. As many of you know I have been in the ER field since the late 1980’s and then spent 16 years in petrochemical and semi-conductor industries as a safety engineer/manager before starting my consulting business. As part of that contract, I had the chance to attend this NFA 10-Day course. Anyone who loves chemicals and what they can do and you’re responsible for the PREVENTION, PROTECTION, and MITIGATION of chemical releases, this course must be on your “bucket list” to attend. It is FREE, but you have to apply and be accepted the year before your class, so don’t delay your application. SAFTENG members can see my Pre-Course Reading Materials, which is one of the best summaries for the KEY TERMS in hazardous materials and it also provides a very basic understanding of these terms and why/how they are relative to process safety professionals and HAZMAT responders.
