As of yesterday (12/15/2017), the state of Ohio has a new fire code, which just happens to be a revised version of the 2015 International Fire Code. As I have been writing about this year, this revised code could have an impact on a number of businesses/industries. For example, ammonia refrigeration processes that are built from this day on will NO LONGER be permitted to discharge their relief valves (RV) to the atmosphere, without first getting an “engineering analysis” (done per the code) to show that there would be no fire, health or environmental hazard and then convincing the State Fire Marshal so he/she would grant the exception.
