I have been debating about posting this weeks photo, but decided ever how unpopular it may be, it needs to be shown. The picture comes from a family blog where the dad took his son to work. Yes that is a six year old on the roof cleaning out the gutters. Shockingly enough, the dad was not even on the roof when this photo was taken (stated on the caption of the photo).
Ironically the name of the posting is “Having the best day of my life”. I am all for taking our kids to work and having them do chores to instill a strong work ethic in them, but I think having a six year old on a roof is a bit much. I have decided to blackout the kids face and NOT to post the blog address so that the safety community does not bombard this family with comments, but we (the safety community) MUST REALIZE that this is the future worker of America. We will be training this worker in the next 15 years or so – do we think he will enter the work force thinking about safety????
