WE (the Arkansas SHARP/VPP Association) came up with the idea of making a video that would cover a wide variety of jobs and educate people on the hazards associated with these jobs, as they relate to amputations. Ask them to go to the link below, and register either an individual name (for an individual certificate of training) or a company name, with the number of people trained for a company certificate. Ask them to walk through their workplace and see how many potential amputation spots they have and put this number down in the box.
The reason the reporting changed this year on amputations, was because they were probably only hearing about half of the incidents that were occurring and are trying to provide positive training to people to lower that type of serious injury in our workplaces.
We made this video in Arkansas at Falcon Jet, J. A. Riggs Tractor Co., Cargill foods, Pulaski county community college and a few other places! Great message and hopefully, it will make an impact on enough people to change the way, they do their jobs!
