OH Consultation studied 16 SHARP companies to see the effect before and after on several economic and safety factors. Highlights:
- Analysis Period: 1999 to 2010
- Total Number of Policies evaluated: 16
- Total Number of Claims made by this group: 1368
The OH Consultation program has free access to workers’ compensation data to use in the study.
- Number of Claims Decreased by 52%
- Average Claim Cost Decreased by 80%
- Average Lost Time Decreased by 87%
- Claims per $M of Payroll Decreased by 88%\
- The Average claim cost was $4,301
- Total payroll was $708 million.
- Payroll information shows that payrolls for these SHARP employers have actually increased during the time of the study. Therefore, reductions in costs and claims are not due to a reduction in exposure due to the economy.
