Computer based tools for workplace heat stress

These computer-based tools were produced to support OHS practitioners in managing hot periods in the work environment.

1) Utility and guide for preventing heatstroke (In French only)
This computer-based tool proposes means for preventing heatstroke and discusses steps to be taken if a worker presents symptoms or signs of discomfort caused by heat. It is accompanied by an electronic version of the Guide de prévention des coups de chaleur (heatstroke prevention guide) version 2007, which was prepared by the CSST and the Québec Ministry of Health and Social Services.  Click Here To download the Excel file
2) Estimation of the alternate work/rest regimen according to the Schedule V of the ROHS (In French only)
This computer-based tool is used to estimate the alternate work/rest regimen in a hot environment based on Schedule V of the ROHS. The parameters to be considered are the physical work load and the WBGT values at the workstation and resting place. Click Here To download the Excel file
3) Estimation of the alternate work/rest regimen according to the 2007 recommandations of the ACGIH ® 
This computer-based tool estimates of work/rest regimen during work in a hot environment according to 2007 ACGIH® “Documentation of TLVs®”. Parameters are: metabolic rate, WBGT temperature values at the workstation and the rest location, and the clothing worn by the worker.
