What exactly does this phrase mean, and how is it done?
This is a CRITICAL aspect for conduit in our Hazardous Locations (HAZLOC). It is something we should be checking (sampling) in our conduit runs in our HAZLOCs. The video below is by far the best I have ever seen that explains why we “pour conduits” (i.e., it’s the means to seal the conduit so gases or vapors cannot travel inside the conduit). It is NOT easy to do correctly, and I would estimate that about 30% of PSSRs I participate in find serious flaws in these installations, from not being poured at all, to not being “poured” properly, to using a NON-approved “cement”, etc. If you are curious as to the Code to reference for this requirement, it is…
