FREE “Incident Safety Officer (ISO)” Training videos (4 Parts)

This FREE four-part webinar series is brought to us by the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) and provides information on the roles and responsibilities, health and safety considerations, and practical application of skills for Incident Safety Officers (ISOs).  This is a GREAT series for personnel working within an Incident Command structure who may be called upon to serve as the Incident Safety Officer.  PLEASE keep in mind that ALL emergency responders (paid and volunteers) fall under 1910.120, either directly by falling under OSHA regulations or indirectly by EPA using 40 CFR Part 311.  1910.120(q)(3)(vii) REQUIRES the Incident Commander to designate a “safety officer” within an incident command structure and this “safety officer” MUST BE … knowledgeable in the operations being implemented at the emergency response site, with specific responsibility to identify and evaluate hazards and to provide direction with respect to the safety of operations for the emergency at hand.  BOTH agencies may ask for training for a “safety officer” and it is REALLY NICE to be able to demonstrate this individual has obtained MORE TRAINING specific to these specialized skills than the other responders on scene.  This training may not meet all of your needs, but it is a GREAT start and I highly recommend it.  You can watch the 4 videos…
