Description:
We are seeking a full-time HSE Coordinator to assist with all aspects of safety, health and environmental integration and compliance. Your primary responsibilities will include working closely with operational management to administer the safety and health guidelines and interact with site personnel regarding safety issues in order to eliminate hazards and accidents.
Other duties include but are not limited to; conducting employee and subcontractor site safety orientations as well as oversee training programs, work with all levels of the organization to implement HSE guidelines, participate in safety meetings and track incident statistics timely and appropriately.
Qualifications:
If you are highly organized with excellent communication skills, and have the ability to work across all levels of the organization you could be the ideal candidate. You should also bring an adequate education with at least 3 or more years of experience in providing health, safety and environmental support in, preferably, a manufacturing environment.
This position requires travel between sites in Texas and Oklahoma.

JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY
The HSE Coordinator provides technical support and tactical execution in the implementation of IFS Coatings’ Health, Safety and Environmental programs across both locations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Implement, monitor, and support site HSE programs to ensure compliance with applicable HSE guidelines, regulations, permits, and standards.
- Work with associates and management on the investigation of incidents and significant “near-misses” to ensure root cause identification and hazard mitigation
- Generate and share Incident Investigation Reports and Returns of Experience.
- Work with associates to evaluates hazardous conditions and practices including leading JHAs to develop hazard control practices and programs.
- Manage PPE programs and supplies.
- Maintain Safety Communication Boards and signs.
- Work with facility personnel to address audit findings from third parties, management walk-throughs and regulatory bodies.
- Review capital expenditure requests to ensure occupational safety and environmental issues have been considered and addressed prior to submittal.
- Maintain and share company accident (incident) statistics.
- Oversee sites environmental programs and reporting including hazardous waste, annual reporting, SWPPP, air permit requirements and wastewater discharge.
- Manage facilities’ safety training programs and activities, including tracking of completion rates, assignment matrixes as well as arranging for supplemental activities as necessary.
- Provide EHS orientation for new employees as part of the on-boarding process.
- Review industrial hygiene results and assist facilities in addressing exposure issues.
- Keeps apprised of developments in federal and state safety laws likely to affect the company.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- May be required to assist with cost-control efforts, participate in manufacturing improvement committees, and the like.
- Conduct safety training like: forklift safety, respirator fit-tests; maintain weekly/monthly safety training documentation.
- Conduct department safety inspections on a routine basis.
- Provide monthly/quarterly safety reports to management.
- Perform safety audits and inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years professional safety and environmental experience in manufacturing industry. Preferably within the chemical industry.
- Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with Spanish a plus.
