Last month I posted the annual OSHA enforcement activity regarding 1910.146, as well as I posted an update on the 2-year anniversary of OSHA’s 1926 Subpart AA – Confined Spaces in Construction. Both posts got a lot of discussions started, but the update on the 2-year anniversary of OSHA’s 1926 Subpart AA – Confined Spaces in Construction and how that construction standard can impact General Industry workplaces generated over 100 e-mails/texts/calls. I knew there was a “smoking gun” there but did not know it was so widespread. So almost all of the discussions ended with “can you post evidence that OSHA is citing 1926.1201-.1213 in general industry workplaces?”. The answer is yes, and here is the 2017 enforcement activity for 1926 Subpart AA – Confined Spaces in Construction and I have highlighted the general industry workplaces where this standard was cited:
Special note: Since 1926 Subpart AA – Confined Spaces in Construction is broken down into 13 standards I have taken the liberty to total the data:
# of Citations = 192
# of Inspections = 116
Citation $’s = $763,902
