Now that I have decided to stay in this game for a bit longer, I have had several inquiries about the safety training I used to do for safety pros. So I am inquiring about who may be interested in such training.
The KEY to this training is finding a SPONSOR to host it. The sponsor provides the space and lunch for the training day(s) and is allowed up to 5 seats free of charge, since they are paying for the lunches and providing the space. This keeps costs way down for attendees. These courses are a lot of fun, especially when we tie several together for a week.
Topics that I love to teach:
1) Process Safety (1-day, 3-day, 5-day) – courses can be chemical/RAGAGEP(s) specific
2) Pressure Vessel and Piping 101 for Hazardous Materials & PSM/RMP
3) Emergency Response (EAP & ERP) based on 1910.38 and 1910.120(q) (1-day)
4) Behaviors of Hazardous Materials – General (1-day)
I have 1-day programs specific to NH3, Cl2, H2S, Br, Simple Asphxiants
5) Flammable Liquids/Gases 101 (1-Day)
6) Respiratory Protection for Program Administrators (1-day)
7) Permit-Require Confined Spaces (1-day)
8) Control of Hazardous Energy (LOTO) (1-day)
9) Utilizing the International Fire Code to improve hazardous materials safety
These are NOT courses for workers! These courses are for safety professionals looking to advance their knowledge of these topics. Of course, I cover all the OSHA requirements, but we also get into NFPA, CGA, Fire Code, Mechanical Code, etc.
For example, the PRCS course helps improve your Program, your evaluations, and your entry practices (with a big emphasis on air monitoring, ventilation, and rescue plans), including Reclassifying Spaces to NON-PRCS.
If you’re interested in ATTENDING or sponsoring a course, please reach out to me at Bryan@SAFTENG.net. I have done many of these courses outside of the USA as well, but just understand they are based 100% on USA codes and standards.
