Alternative to Employee Couch Potatoes! – WorkPaceUSA
I wanted to share some information with all of you regarding a program I learned about through one of our soon-to-be VPP partners, XXXXXXXX, Fort Worth, Texas. XXXXXXX is the safety guy over there and got me together with this group to learn about their program. He’d also be a great source to discuss the program with if your interested in more information. Basically the program is an alternative to sending employees home when they’re injured or ill and the company doesn’t have the time, resources, etc., to create restricted work for them at their own facility. The program (WorkPace USA) is run by Volunteers of America, a non-profit organization that acts as a clearinghouse for other non-profit organizations that rely on volunteers to operate. I think the attached newspaper article and short Power Point presentation will explain it in more detail. Region VI OSHA is currently pursuing an alliance or other form of partnership with WorkPace USA, but I wanted to share this with you now since I thought it was a really slick deal that I think could benefit many of your sites.
