I am sure that you have seen some of the information on what OSHA is requiring Education Centers to do regarding monitoring OSHA Outreach Trainers. However, you may not have seen the details surrounding this program which I am attaching for your use. Attached is an internal OSHA document that went to all Education Centers that outlines the specifics of the monitoring program.
In reading the document, I found it very interesting that OSHA will not allow Education Centers to issue cards for a large number of commonly made mistakes on Outreach Card request forms. The information in this document to date is unpublished and will serve to be a rude awakening for many Outreach Trainers that will be conducting classes, may make a minor mistake on the filling in the OSHA form and then not receiving cards for their students.
I am letting you know of this as I don’t think that many Outreach Trainers are aware of this new policy and how it dictates how and when Education Centers can issue cards. Please publicize this in your next newsletter if possible. Please keep my name out of any publication of the materials as I am closely tied to this matter.
