Recently OSHA.gov has been experiencing some serious issues and although it appears to have gotten almost back to normal, sometimes access to standards is lost. And if you’re like me and do a lot of work in locations where there is no internet connection and you need the standards for a project, here is a FREE and simple way to have ALL of 1910, 1926, Part 68, etc. at your disposal 100% of the time. Heck the shortcuts and links even work and it is “searchable” using your browsers search function. Your computer will not even know your not on line. Here’s what you do…
1) Go to www.ecfr.gov
2) Using the “Browse” Drop Down menu (shown at the bottom of the image above), scroll down to “TITLE 29 – Labor” and this will take you to this page… (see below). Once there you want to scroll down to “1901.1-1910.999”. I circled it in the image below.
3) When you click on the link in the circle above, you will be taken to the page shown below. Now this is the trick, when you scroll down to the 1910 section you will see there are two links (circled in the image below). CLICK on one of the 1910 links and it will open up a new page.
4) After you click on the desired 1910 link you will land on the following page (NOTE: depending on which section of the 1910 standards you chose your screen may be different than the one shown below). This is the page you want to save to your computer. I created a folder on my Desktop for all my codes and standards. SAVE the page as an HTML file to your computer. By doing so the page and all its contents and working links are saved. When you open the file up later on, it will be like your on line.
WORKS LIKE A CHARM and it is 100% FREE. If you have any computer knowledge this task will take less than 3 minutes for each of the two (2) 1910 sections, one (1) 1926 section, and the 40 CFR Part 68. Now if the GPO would just organize all the CPLs, STDs, and LOIs we would have it made!!!!
