These are REALLY GREAT tools from OSHA and MSHA. I can envision these tools being a GREAT EXERCISE for a safety comittee to use as a learning and assessment tool. They can be used by facilities looking to get an understanding of their compliance obligations based on some VERY SPECIFIC workplace requirements. The user will establish the type of workplace/industry they are in; then they will establish the type of tools and work taking place in their workplace by answering some very specific questions regarding their workplace. The Advisor then provides a lengthy report that can identify areas that need attention. IF the user is HONEST and just says “I don’t know” when they are NOT SURE if a business is doing certain activities then the Advisor can pinpoint needed programs, training, and hazards. This is ALL DONE FOR FREE and I was impressed with the results. I HIGHLY advise anyone who has not had a formal safety and health assessment done at their facility take the 15 minutes and complete OSHA Hazard Awareness Advisor.
