A retired safety professional I am a friend with on Facebook shared this video with me and it made me think (as most safety pro’s will)… would this approach work in stopping unsafe acts? I think it will, but what do you think? How can we go about utilizing this approach, I call “self reflection”. Those that oppose it claim the approach is nothing short of embarrassing to the worker and will not have a lasting impact.
I disagree, as I have seen kids have a dramatic impact on their parent’s behavior. Look at seatbelt usage… going into the schools and educating the kids on BUCKLING UP has changed the behavior of many adults – when your kids get in and buckle up, they will kindly and relentlessly remind the adults to BUCKLE UP.
