Labeling Permit-Required Confined Spaces, Words Matter

PRCS labeling

Have you ever seen a Permit-Required Confined Space (PRCS) labeled using the term “Confined Space” instead of “Permit-Required Confined Space”?  Does it matter what we call them?

PRCS labeling

To be blunt… YES IT MATTERS!  We are REQUIRED to label our spaces that have been evaluated by a competent person and determined to be a PRCS.

We are not required to label those spaces that are Confined Spaces or a space that have been reclassified as non-PRCS using 1910.146(c)(7) or 1926.1203(g).

However, as we can see above, some limitless vendors/suppliers will sell us these signs.
