Here are the other changes:
- the definition of the term permit to clarify that the permit authorizing individual (PAI) is the authority issuing the permit for specified hot work.
- annex material has been added to reflect that permit documentation can be in any acceptable format.
- Annex material has been added to the definition of the term management to offer guidance to ensure there is proper management for hot work operations.
- Updates have also been made in the mutual responsibility section in Chapter 4 to better clarify which entity is responsible for each hot work activity.
- New requirements have been added in Chapter 5 to ensure that hot work operations performed on tanks, containers, or piping that previously contained ignitible liquids are only permitted after the tanks, containers, or piping have been cleaned or purged in accordance with NFPA 326, Standard for the Safeguarding of Tanks and Containers for Entry, Cleaning, or Repair.
