Another great video showing the HIGHLY EFFECTIVE use of a plastic tarp over a release point of Anhydrous Ammonia. Something so simple, cheap, and easy to use that can have that kind of impact makes a PLASTIC TARP a MUST HAVE in all NH3 emergency response trailers. Just MAKE SURE the tarp is 100% clean and has NOT been used for any other purpose before it is used in this manner. Compare that to using water fog to scrub the released vapor (as shown below in Video #2). Keep in mind the equipment and resources needed for the water fog technique vs. that needed using the plastic tarp. Which do you think is the most effective, fastest to deploy, and has a better impact on the release?
