Not many OSHA CHSO’s are knowledgeable on Pressure Vessel Safety and with CSHO’s having to be expert in ALL the OSHA regs, the leadership thought it would be nice if the field CSHO’s had some guidance and reference document they could use. This document was actually published in the 1980’s, long before PSM came about. But these days, it is used to help train field personnel on pressure vessel safety practices.
It is of my opinion, this is an EXCELLENT DOCUMENT to use to help non-engineers understand the basic practices regarding the design, construction, use, and care of pressure vessels. I use it often during audits and training as a reference point.
