If anyone has employees who wonder why they need safety glasses, and if they really as super-strong as touted; the accompanying photos should help! An employee mistakenly placed these on the hood of his car-pooling, full sized van this morning. They promptly slid off the hood as he walked toward the house to retrieve his lunch. Getting back into the van, he forgot all about the safety glasses he left on the hood for a moment after moving forward about 10 feet, then realized he did this. Stopping the van and taking a look outside and did not see the glasses on the hood or the ground at first. Then, he did see the glasses under the van and realized he ran over them. He showed these to me and shared his story after first telling all those he works with about it. Cannot buy that kind of safety training and buy-in!
There is now an entire team talking about how regular glasses would have just been crushed. And the story spreads along with the glasses…
The photos I just took this morning are original and the story is true. Hopefully they can help other locations in training on the importance (and strength) of these valuable PPE.
