3M has identified a potential problem with certain 3M™ PELTOR™ brand helmet-attached earmuffs, communication headsets and earmuff/faceshield kits. Specifically, the mechanism that holds the earmuff cups on the helmet may come apart during use, such that the earmuff cups and small metal or plastic pieces of the assembly can fall off the helmet. The models which may be affected are sometimes described as a “cap mount” or “hard hat attached” earmuff or headset and will include the identifying code “P3E” in the model number or in the product description.
