What does AI say about too high of QNFT results?

I have written several articles on Fit test Records with QNFT results, exceeding 10,000. I have seen number as high as 500,000. And to be honest I’m not sure why the makers of the QNFT machines even have the ability to record numbers over 10,000, as most of these manufacturers will state anything over 10,000 is “suspect” and should not be accepted. SO, in this day and age, I thought why not ask AI about this, and it takes the same info from these manufacturers and regurgitates what I have been saying since my 2008 article.

  • Twisted or blocked sample tube: Check the tube for any twists or blockages that could interfere with accurate sampling.
  • High efficiency of the ventilation system: In some cases, a very efficient ventilation system might lead to very low particle counts in the ambient air, potentially resulting in extremely high, albeit misleading, fit factors. 

Troubleshooting Suspiciously High Fit Factors:

  • Enable “High Fit Factor Warning” feature: Utilize the software’s warning feature to be alerted when fit factors exceed a certain threshold (e.g., 100,000).
  • Verify the fit test adapter setup: If a high fit factor warning appears, carefully re-check the adapter’s assembly and the sample tube’s position and condition.
  • Perform a seal break test: While the respirator remains on the test subject, have them intentionally break the seal by, for example, inserting a finger between the mask and face. If the real-time fit factor doesn’t drop significantly, there is likely an issue with the adapter setup or sample tube.
