When management sends the message they are “serious” about safety

IMG 6212This is in my community, and I just had to share.   The back story is…

Recently, a child was struck crossing the street at this intersection.  The child was “treated and released” at a local ER and will fully recover (Physically, mentally, not so sure).  Neighbors had been complaining to the police about the increased traffic at this intersection due to a new subdivision just up the street. Police increased patrols in the area and even set up surveillance at peak times for a few days.  They issued a few “warnings” and even fewer tickets, which did not make the neighbors happy.  Then, the accident happened, and all hell broke loose.

So, after the accident, this was “the [administrative] fix” for people “rolling through” the STOP sign.

Once I saw this, I had to see if it was real or a social media hoax/joke.  To my dismay, it is real and quite foolish.  But hey, as the old saying goes, ” If one is good, two must be better!”

But does this additional STOP sign REDUCE errors/mistakes/violations in human behavior and decision-making?
