another was seriously injured after a seismic-related accident –
another two mineworkers have been hospitalized and are in a stable

Worker Crushed in Accident at Freehold Cartage, Inc. (a
21-year-old was killed while attempting to shut a door on a
recycling container – he was crushed by a tractor-trailer that was
backing up – the driver of the vehicle was unable to see the worker
– officials are investigating why he did not hear or see the truck
backing up)
Worker killed in excavation accident (a contractor, in his 40{apos}s,
was killed in an excavation accident around 11:24 a.m. – he was
entrapped in an excavator – he was dead when investigators arrived –
initial reports indicate the man became trapped in the machine while

listed in critical condition – when a worker arrived at worker, he
found a worker’s foot stuck in a meat grinder – emergency workers

machine – emergency workers had to climb up to get him down –

Office of State Fire Marshal have determined the cause of last
week’s explosion and fire that killed a contract worker at a coke
plant – the investigation reveals that a worker, 61, opened an
access panel to a high pressure gas line that triggered the
explosion and fire – investigators say he was assigned to be on a

extra fuel (a refinery fire was completely put out, five days
after the initial explosion that began burning the refinery{apos}s fuel
tanks – firefighters were able to completely put out the fire on
Wednesday although black smoke was still reportedly seen coming out
of the 31 T-7 tank – the fire broke out at the refinery after an
explosion at the refinery{apos}s 31 T-2 tank, which contains high octane
motor-gasoline component – following the explosion in the refinery{apos}s
unit IV, tank 31 T-2 was completely destroyed, and two other tanks
caught fire, 31 T-3 and 31 T-7, which contain naphtha – emergency
crews faced further challenges after a 7.1-magnitude earthquake –
the earthquake reportedly did not damage the refinery)

near the billboards and was electrocuted – another worker tried to
save the crane operator but was almost electrocuted after coming in
contact with him and fell unconscious – the third worker also

DOT worker rescued from shaft in Ted Williams Tunnel (a worker,
51, fell down a shaft in a tunnel just after 1 a.m. – a ladder
either gave way or slipped while the man was working, sending him
tumbling at least 10 feet down a 20-foot shaft, which was filled
with water – he suffered leg injuries in the fall, creating problems
freeing him from the hole – he also hit his head during the fall,
causing lacerations)
DPS worker dies in Austin airport accident (a Department of
Public Safety employee, 53, has died in an accident while on duty at
an airport – he died while working on a communications trailer at a
DOT flight services hangar – he suffered a traumatic injury –
further details were not immediately released – he had worked for
DPS since December 2008)
