PRCS FATALITY– ONE ENTRANT – ONE WOULD BE RESCUER – OXYGEN DEFECIENT Man dies in hospital following industrial accident in Hamilton (one of two men who were rescued from a tanker truck in Hamilton on Thursday evening has succumbed to his injuries in hospital around 5:30 p.m. – one employee entered the tanker and then collapsed – a second employee then went to check on that man and also collapsed – both men were later found by another employee – the deceased, 25, was initially rushed to hospital but was subsequently pronounced dead – the second injured party was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition but is now listed in stable condition)

ASPHYXIATION FATALITIES 4 workers die from toxic gas leak at Posco plant (four subcontractor workers died of asphyxiation after a gas leak at steel plant – workers inhaled nitrogen while working on a facility that supplies oxygen to a furnace at about 4 p.m. – the accident is thought to have occurred while the workers were replacing materials used at the facility)

FATALITY Plant reveals details leading up to worker’s death (a hydraulic motors manufacturer worker, 45, died from serious injuries after a safety hood on a motor testing operation, often referred to as a test stand, fell and struck him – the safety hood serves as a protective shield to protect operators during the testing procedure)

GUARDING/LOTO Industrial Accident at Cargill in Springdale (accident involved machinery and one person was injured – the person who was injured is not employed directly with the facility, but works for a third-party sanitation service – worker somehow got his jacket caught in a machine with rollers and his arm was pulled in – suffered only scrapes and bruising)
