As we know, OSHA has now updated their standards with the following NEW WWS Standards.  As a safety pro, when trying to understand ALL the new requirements I like to take the standard(s) and “tier” them so as to make clear what and when a requirement applies.  I am posting these (links below) for others

Here is a summary of OSHA’s 2016 Top Ten as listed by OSHA:

In OSHA’s fiscal year, October 2015 through September 2016, there were 14 General Industry standards that resulted in citations of $1,000,000 or more.  Here’s a breakdown of these 12 standards: 1910.1200 HAZCOM had the most Citations Issued with 5,268 1910.1200 HAZCOM had the most Inspections with 2,853 1910.147 LOTO had the most in Citation $’s

Here is a look at OSHA’s HAZWOPER compliance activity in 2016 (October 2015 – September 2016). As you can see, OSHA did 34 HAZWOPER inspections and issued 66 citations for a total of $376,780 in fines. This is the SETTLED amount and NOT the initial citations.
